Achieve!Minneapolis Announces Recipients of the Plank Professional Development Awards
Achieve!Minneapolis is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2005-06 Plank Professional Development Awards. These Minneapolis Public School teachers will benefit from extraordinary experiences during the summer of 2006 thanks to the generosity of this endowment supporting rejuvenating opportunities for teachers.

  • Martha Jane Pederson, Lake Harriet Upper: Conductive education in Budapest
  • Karen Karis, Barton Open: Volunteer with Costa Rican conservation group
  • Kathryn Kindle, Broadway High School: Kite making and flying in China
  • Nathaniel Kuster, Northrop Urban Environmental Learning Center: Literacy program in Oaxaca, Mexico
  • Hans Verbeten, Broadway High School: Visit site of Hanseatic League
  • Torrey Lau and Anna Beal, North High School: Study tropical avian ecology in Nicaragua
  • Princess Margaret Yehoah, Lucy Laney @ Cleveland Park: Travel to Ghana to develop curriculum
