Fund for Teachers Fellowship Awards Fund for Teachers is a national public foundation based in Houston whose mission is to enrich the lives of schoolteachers and students by providing outstanding teachers with recognition and opportunities for summer learning and exploration. Founded by Apache Corporation Chairman Raymond Plank, the foundation’s enrichment fund is supported by individual and corporate donors. Participants are selected on the basis of how their summer activity will make the recipient a better teacher, how improved skills and capacity will be implemented in the classroom, and how improved skills or capacity will benefit students, curricula and the school. Deadline for applications is November 1 each year. Achieve!Minneapolis is happy to announce the recipients of the 2007-08 Fund for Teacher Fellowship Awards, created by Raymond Plank, CEO of Apache Corporation, to recognize the impact teachers have on the lives of students and to encourage their sustained commitment to student achievement: Patricia Field, Park View Montessori, Study Maria Montessori’s methods in Italy, $4,500
Pierce Teacher Recognition Awards were created to recognize the efforts of an extraordinary elementary and secondary teacher each year with a $1,000 award. This program is administered in conjunction with the MPS Curriculum and Instruction Department. |
